Photography is a key marketing tool in today’s cattle industry. With more and more absentee buyers participating in sales around the country, a good photograph can improve and increase the amount your cattle sell for, as buyers are more comfortable spending money on what they can see.
Equally, a poor photograph that does not represent the animal in a positive light – will reduce the value of that animal.
Cattle should be clipped and should be at a minimum in moderate body condition prior to taking photos.
Below are examples of top quality photos for you to attempt to duplicate if you attempt to take photos yourself, pay particular attention to the pose, lighting (keep the sun behind you), and fill the animal in the frame.
